Nathaniel Donnelly

Nathaniel is originally from Colorado.  He enlisted into the Marine Corps in 1995 where he served with "Charlie" Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii until his reenlistment in 1999.  He then served as an Embassy Guard in Conakry, Guinea and San Jose, Costa Rica until the attacks on September 11th, 2001 cut his tour short.  He was transferred back to the infantry where he served with the legendary "Dark Horse" 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment in "India" Company's 2nd Platoon and participated in Operation: Iraqi Freedom I beginning in March of 2003.
 
Upon discharge in late 2003, Nathaniel earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from San Diego State University where he focused his efforts on Student Veterans.  He is the Founding President of the Student Veteran Organization at SDSU and a founding officer of the Student Veterans of America, the very organization that worked with Senators Webb and Hagel to implement the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill.
 
Nathaniel now lives in La Mesa, California with his family and works at Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) in San Diego.  His hobbies include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, camping, long-distance hiking, and spending quality time with his daughter Abaigeal and son Anlon.
